BUYER POINT INTERNATIONAL, an event dedicated to DIY, brings together, in a single day, the italians DIY producers offer and the acquisition menagers from the major companies in Romania representing retailers (online retailers included), importers, and distributors of the romanian DIY market.

It’s official: the 15th of September, Sibiu Court ordered the opening of insolvency proceedings of the company of DIY and building materials distribution – Ambient SA. With a network of 14 stores, concentrated mostly in the north-central of the country, Ambient Sibiu company sells building materials, plumbing products and home decoration.

Slovakia and Romania had the highest growth of construction works of all Member States of the European Union in July 2015 compared to the same period in 2014, according to the European Statistics Office (Eurostat).

Research: Romanian Traders sold abroad especially building materials and furniture. The highest sales are recorded by Italy and Austria, and the biggest purchases are from Poland, according to an analysis by non-banking financial institution Akcent.

Brico Depot, part of Kingfisher, the leading European DIY market and home improvement and the third largest worldwide, celebrates this fall completing the transformation of all 15 stores (former Bricostore), acquired in 2013.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS) in the period January 1 – August 31, 2015, volume of construction works in Romania increased by 11,3%, compared to the same period from last year.

Another two former bauMax DIY units entered into the process of transformation in Leroy Merlin stores: bauMax Calea Turzii, from Cluj-Napoca and bauMax Sibiu. There are still 8 bauMax stores to be rebranded, of the initial 15 units.

Hornbach, a leading local retailers of building materials and gardening, began planning the sixth unit in Romania, in Sibiu, the new store will be inaugurated this fall. It will have an area of about 12,000 square meters.

From September 19 to 23 took place at Romexpo – Bucharest the event of the year for furniture market in Romania – BIFE SIM Fair. Were presented Companies in Romania and abroad, hundreds of models, thousands of pieces, dozens of styles, information for specialists and for the general public.
