Kingfisher plc, the international home improvement retailer, today announces that it has appointed Christian Mazauric as CEO of Kingfisher in France to replace Marc Tenart who has decided to step down from his role. The appointment becomes effective on 1 October.
Christian has worked at Kingfisher for 17 years, most recently as CEO of B&Q UK & Ireland.
A French national, he started in operational roles at Castorama France in 2001, followed by various roles including Finance Director of Castorama France from 2008 until 2012. Other roles have included Finance Director of B&Q UK & Ireland and CEO of Brico Dépôt Romania where he turned round the business.
Christian came as CEO of Brico Depôt România în the summer of 2015 and leave Romania in may 2017 and in his place came Adela Smeu, who still holds the position of CEO of Brico Depôt România.
Christian took over the CEO role at B&Q UK & Ireland in 2017 and since then has successfully led the business through a significant number of changes.
The appointment becomes effective on 1 October.

The british DIY retailer has a network of 38 stores in Romania, after Kingfisher acquired Bricostore’s 15 home improvement stores in Romania in 2013 and transformed it in Brico Dépôt stores and after Kingfisher also acquired 27 Praktiker stores in 2017 (4 Praktiker stores was closed after aquisition).
The grow of Brico Dépôt Romania was with +80.8% (includes Praktiker Romania acquired on 30 November 2017) and +4.6% LFL, to 58 millions £.
