Kingfisher, the international home improvement company, announced that Adela Smeu, CEO of Brico Depôt Romania, is now part of the Group Executive, according to a statement from the British company.
Adela joined Kingfisher in 2015 as Finance Director for Brico Dépôt Romania. She was appointed to CEO of Romania in 2017. Prior to joining Kingfisher Adela spent eight years at Obi, the international home improvement retailer, in Romania, where she was Director of Finance and Administration. She previously spent four years in finance roles at United Technologies in France and six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Romania.
This appointment is part of other changes announced by Kingfisher, combined with others made since September, complete Kingfisher’s Group Executive team.

Brico Depôt Romania
Brico Depôt Romania is part of the Kingfisher Group, which officially entered the local market in 2013, following the acquisition of the Bricostore chain of stores. The company renamed the newly acquired chain of stores, which became Brico Depôt. In August 2017, the british group also purchased the network of 27 Praktiker stores in Romania. At this moment, Brico Depôt Romania operates 35 stores.
