Bricomarché Poland – sales rise with 10.3% in 2018

Bricomarché, the supermarket chain of the „home and garden” industry, part of the french Musketeers Group, registered a good performance in Poland, in FY2018.

In FY2018, Bricomarché Poland sales grew with 10.3%, to PLN2.3 billion (€0.5billion). During 2018, Les Mousquetaires group invested PLN100 million (€23.3million) in its operations in Poland to open new stores, lower prices and operate more eye-catching promotions.

At a net supermarket level, Les Mousquetaires ended 2018 with one fewer store in Poland after opening four and closing five. In 2019, Les Mousquetaires will aim to open four new stores in the country, while also investigating opportunities to add Drive collection points.

Les Mousquetaires reports strong growth in FY2018

France-based Les Mousquetaires said its total sales rose 5.9%, excluding fuel, and by 7.7%, including fuel, across its operations in Europe. The organisation was able to report a positive performance at all its divisions, with its retail brands generating sales of €40.5bn, including fuel, and its agribusiness division producing €4.0bn.

160 stores until the end of 2018 and 200 stores until the end of 2020

„According to our plan, by end of 2020, we want to operate 200 Bricomarché stores in Poland. We are increasingly investing in big cities, although we are very careful when choosing this type of location,” says Dr. Katarzyna Jańczak-Stefanide, CEO of the Bricomarché network in Poland.

Bricomarché, part of The french Musketeer Group, is a supermarket chain of the „home and garden” industry operating in over 100 cities in Poland with stores which have a customer-friendly store area from 1.000 to 2.500 mp. The stores are located in smaller cities from Poland to be as close as possible to customers, offering proximity and convenience of everyday shopping and are selling arrond 15.000 – 25.000 products from DIY, building, decoration and garden categories.
