With an investment of more than 100 million EUR in a brand new distribution center in Bozhuristhe near Sofia, JYSK, the scandinavian retailer of furniture and home decorations, has invested heavily in Bulgaria. New stores in Poland and Romania, in march 2019.
JYSK’s brand new distribution center in Bozhuristhe, Bulgaria, has come a long way towards completion. Two fully automated highbays reaches 45 meter into the air, and by June 2019 the distribution center will be fully ready for use.
So far, the scandianavian retailer has invested more than 100 million EUR in the distribution center, which will service the stores in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosina-Hercegovina and Greece.
The distribution center in Bozhurishte is 86.000 sqm, and when finished it will have a capacity of 122.000 pallets
This huge investment in Bulgaria is the reason that JYSK received the prize as “Investor of Year 2018” during an award show held in Sofia on March 7. The distribution center will employ app. 300 employees when will be fully operational. The location in Bulgaria has significant environmental advantages, as it will save more than 10 million truck kilometers a year compared to the current setup.

”It is a big recognition of our unique investment, and the fact that this facility is the first of its kind in Bulgaria. In that way the JYSK distribution center is groundbreaking in Bulgaria, and this is of course something, which we are very proud of,” says Troels Fynbo Larsen, Contract Manager Logistics JYSK.
New JYSK stores in Poland and Romania, in march 2019
Every month many new JYSK stores open the doors to customers around the world. Here you can get an overview of where and when JYSK stores will open this month. In march 2019, the retailer anounced that will open 5 stores in: Finland (2 stores) and one in Sweeden, Romania and Poland.
JYSK Group is formed by the 3 companies. In total, the companies have 2,724 stores, 23,000 employees across 51 countries. The turnover in the financial year 17/18 was 3.58 billion euro.
