BUYER POINT events series continues this year with the 15th edition of the B2B international event, dedicated to DIY industry, that will take place in Milano, on 8 and 9 may 2018. BricoRetail.ro presents the most important events from 2017 in DIY retail from Romania and a few conclusions after this year. 2017 was a consolidation year for the DIY retail in Romania and the year that produced a big acuisition – Kingfisher Plc acquired the local network Praktiker.
The beginning of year is the sales moment for the retailers. Praktiker Romania announces offers for tenths of products and Brico Depot announces the launch of the catalog. Also, Dedeman launched it catalog with a lot of sales.
Hornbach, one of the main local retailers of building materials and gardening opened his online store, where customers can choose from over 27,000 products. The company announces the gradual expansion of product assortment and aims to get more than 80% of its stock products in online, by the end of 2018.
HUF HAUS, the german constructor of premium wood houses of post-and-beam type contemporary arhitecture, opens the way for a new house type for prefabricate house industry with launching of a new house prototype realised exclusively with secure glass.
JYSK Romania reopened JYSK Pallady store, situated in Auchan Pallady commercial center in Bucharest. The furniture, home furnishings and home textiles retailer, part of the JYSK Nordic Scandinavian group, are operating at this moment 53 JYSK stores in Romania.
The online retailer PIATRAONLINE finishes the 2017 year with 24 million lei revenue, almost 5.300.000 Euro, and starts the year with growing business plans and the consolidation of the brand reputation.
Competition Counsil fined with 3.056.314 lei CRH Ciment SA and Comnord SA for the implementation of a merger before being authorized by the competition authority.
The volume of construction works decreased by 4,2% in November 2017, compared to November 2016, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
Construction works increased with 0.5% in the European Union and with 0.6% in the euro area in November 2017 compared to October 2017, according to Eurostat data.
